An exciting opportunity is now available for a Pharmacy Technician to join the Pharmaceutical team located in Nepean's new state of the art hospital.
This permanent part time role will see you be responsible to the Director of Pharmacyfor the provision of a safe, efficient and effective distribution of pharmaceuticals to wards and departments and providing assistance in the preparation of manufactured sterile and non-sterile products, and dispensing of prescriptions and associated clerical duties. Within this role you will provide imprest support to all wards on a rotational basis, and prepare non-sterile products under the supervision of a registered pharmacist, ensuring that all equipment is clean and that all necessary records are kept.
Within this role you will communicate effectively with fellow workers and hospital staff and show willingness to work co-operatively, in a team manner, with all colleagues, promoting and maintaining harmonious interdepartmental relation.

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course (2 doses) of a Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine (except for the Janssen COVID-19 vaccine which is approved by the TGA as a single dose primary course). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health or provide an Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW. A NSW Health agency may require further information about the medical contraindication (including but not limited to an Immunisation Medical Exemption form – IM011 form).
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.
Selection criteria to be addressed:
1. Successfully completed a qualification in a relevant field recognised by the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia or up to the level of Certificate III issued by a Registered Training Organisation in Hospital and community Pharmacy (eg Charles Sturt University) or has qualifications deemed by the Health Administration Corporation to be equivalent or successfully completed a nationally recognised Pharmacy Technician Certificate Course at Certificate Level IV or has qualifications deemed by the Health Administration Corporation to be equivalent.
2. Demonstrated ability to work in a busy environment and possess good time management skills.
3. Demonstrated ability to integrate well with the other staff working as part of the team.
4. Demonstrated good attention to detail and high level of accuracy in work output.
5. Possess excellent interpersonal communication skills.
6. Previous Australian Hospital Pharmacy experience preferred.
