Overview We are looking to hire an applications scientist to expand our globally-recognized scientific team in Milford, MA. You will join the world's leading specialty measurement company, supporting the development of high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) methods in pharmaceutical applications, working with Waters flagship chromatography systems, to support new business development and address customer challenges. Our team conducts vital work to direct the development of innovative, workflow-based products and solutions, enabling our customers to solve critical analytical challenges and improve efficiency and sustainability.
This is an intermediate level position with an excellent opportunity to grow both professionally and scientifically.
Responsibilities Provide applications support to the global product marketing team, designing and developing new analytical methods. Provide input to the marketing team regarding market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape. Participate in cross-functional teams to improve existing and develop new technologies that address customer needs. Present data and findings from development work to wider project teams. Present your data at scientific conferences/to customers. Participate actively in Waters scientific community. Qualifications An experienced chemist with a B.Sc degree in chemistry, analytical chemistry, or other related subjects plus a suitable level of industrial experience in research or manufacturing. A higher master's or PhD would be advantageous. Experience within the pharmaceutical industry would be beneficial. Strong working knowledge of HPLC and proficiency with troubleshooting and maintenance. Good practical skills within a laboratory environment. Strong analytical skills to assimilate and review technical data. Experience with experimental design and statistical analysis is a plus. Excellent attention to detail and a strong problem-solving background. Strong interpersonal skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills (English).
