Your key accountabilities
The core capability requirements for this role are:
• Provide leadership and strategic direction through the delivery of high level, authoritative, strategic, policing-related advice and support to the Commissioner, Deputy Commissioners and members of the Executive Leadership Team relating to:
o the development and delivery of integrated work health and safety strategy, a contemporary health and safety management system, and policies that support QPS strategic health, safety and wellbeing goals and business objectives
o the delivery of significant projects that uplift QPS capability towards a safe, healthy and high performing workforce
o the establishment of effective governance structures, performance and risk management frameworks and reporting processes.
• Drive improved organisational capability, performance and continuous improvement in the delivery of integrated health and safety programs, systems and services to key customer areas.
• Provide strong and effective leadership and foster a culture of innovation and high performance to ensure excellence in service delivery.
• Develop and maintain effective strategic partnerships with the Health and Wellbeing Division and other QPS business units, across government, and with key stakeholder groups and unions, to facilitate collaboration in managing complex negotiations.
• Provide high level strategic advice and support to relevant governance bodies of the QPS including the Executive Leadership Team and Board of Management.
• Represent the organisation in a range of forums, meetings and negotiations that impact on departmental and whole-of-government priorities and initiatives.
