About the Project
McConnell Dowell and CPB Contractors, along with Design partners Mott McDonald, Arup and Aurecon have been awarded the Tram Grade Separation Projects as an Alliance, comprising of works at three main locations along the Glenelg Tram Line. The level crossings at Marion Road, Cross Road (MAC) and Morphett Road (MTX) will be replaced by tram overpasses, removing the interface with road traffic and creating new public spaces beneath. This project will improve network efficiency and safety at their locations for all users.
These projects will be delivered by the Tram Grade Separation Projects Alliance (TGSPA) together with the Department for Infrastructure and Transport.
Reporting to the Delivery Manager, you will work closely with the project operations team, contributing to the successful delivery of a key South Australian infrastructure project.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
1. Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or related field
2. A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on capital projects and large scale infrastructure projects.
3. Demonstrated technical acumen with proven experience of managing and delivering design solutions.
4. A sound knowledge of construction methods, health and safety and legal regulations.
5. Strong knowledge of relevant design codes and Australian Standards.
6. Competent in planning and organising work schedules and a demonstrated ability to deliver to timelines.
7. Self-confident and able to persuade, convince or impress others in order to gain their commitment and co-operation to a course of action.
8. Strong and clear communication skills with proven ability to engage others
Must be SA based or willing to relocate at own expense.
Responsibilities include:
9. Coordinate with Managers and Superintendents on Engineering, temporary works, scheduling and status of the project.
10. Provide overall progress reports and other reports related to schedule and cost as required by the Project Manager.
11. Participate in bid evaluation of subcontract tenders
12. Manage project documentation, including design reports, construction plans, and progress reports.
13. Monitor and coordinate the preparation maintenance and change of construction schedules, methods, manning charts and equipment requirements. Advise on actions to be taken to prevent or improve undesirable trends in progress.
14. Develop and oversee inspection practices of Site Engineers/Project Engineers to ensure effective and satisfactory progress and completion of all work areas for the project.
15. Ensure temporary works designs and fabrication are verified prior to use of the specific item.
16. Carry out progressive engineering audits of temporary works in accordance with the audit schedule.
