The position reports to the Executive Officer to the Manager Business Services and is responsible for liaison, administration, coordination and organisation in support of the Branch and the organisation.
What will you do?The Team Member assists with the coordination and management of tasks on behalf of the Manager Business Services, in support of AFP priorities.
This work may include:
Providing high level support to the Manager Business ServicesMaintaining strong attention to detail and being able to demonstrate resilience and professionalism in a high-demand and challenging environmentMaintaining a high level of customer service within a high-demand and challenging environmentPerforming a range of office management activities, including but not limited to; arranging travel, organising meetings, and acting as a liaison point for the wider management team.Preparing routine or moderately complex correspondence, minute taking, photocopying/scanning and filing, and coordinating of responses to ministerial and parliamentary requests via the Parliamentary Document Management System (PDMS).Responding to enquiries and providing advice to a range of high-level clients, including AFP members.Maintaining effective working relationships and promoting a positive, professional image of the AFP to internal and external stakeholders.Ensuring adherence to corporate AFP policies, processes and systems.Providing support to the Executive Officer as required.Identifying methods to streamline processes and systems to improve efficiency within the Executive.Essential RequirementsYou must be an Australian Citizen at the time of application.A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.Demonstrated experience providing high-level administrative support.Strong knowledge in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.Highly developed attention to detail, organisational and time management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.Demonstrated ability to autonomously manage a high workload.Additional InformationThis role is located in Canberra and applicants are expected to be based in Canberra or willing to relocate.This role is an AFP Band 4 level.Selection CriteriaOrganising your work, making sound decisions and achieving outcomesCommunicating and working effectively with other peopleApplying technical knowledge, expertise and skillsApplicationPlease submit the following documents via our Jobs portal prior to the closing date and time:
