The long-term strategy is to continually move towards an enabling environment where manual processes are streamlined, and data is used to drive smart business decisions as well as implementing a new corporate services delivery model which has resulted in a wide range of opportunities. Leading a team of 4, the Team Leader plays a critical role in the delivery of financial statements and provide a broad range of technical accounting advice to key stakeholders. Through the period of transformation, you will help foster a high performing culture, evolve finance processes, and continue to uplift staff capability. This is a chance to review and update controls, policies, and governance for the area, and deliver best practice. The RoleKey responsibilities include:Management of the general ledger and fixed asset register to ensure accuracy and completeness, including providing required approvals for journals, reconciliations and accounting transactionsCollaborate with other Finance team members and seek relevant information required for accounting transactionsProvide revenue assurance on all customer-related transactions and work with the Accounts Receivable officer to ensure the financial information is accurately managed and monitoredProvide technical accounting advice to broader finance teams and provide in-depth support on CapEx/OpEx determinationsCollate tax information and share the required information with the external service provider. Also, be responsible for resolving any enquiries and providing any additional informationProvide support to the Manager Financial Governance and Accounting for the development and ongoing management of all financial policies, procedures, and work instructionsManage the month-end processes, including producing the monthly financial statements and supporting account reconciliationsManage the preparation of the annual financial reports and external financial audit processEnsure Icon Water is up to date with any changes regarding Australian Accounting Standards and/or economic or legislative requirementsTake ownership of the record to report and assess accounting end-to-end process and is responsible for driving process improvementThe Ideal PersonYou are a professionally qualified CA/CPA accountant with a strong technical accounting background, having progressed into management roles as a proven leader.You possess strong stakeholder engagement capabilities and well-developed analytical skills. Your expertise in financial statements is complemented by a strong technical understanding of accounting standards and their application to large, regulated organisations.Highly motivated and commercially oriented, you approach new problems with a pragmatic and reliable common-sense mindset.
