The Role
The successful applicant will ideally possess excellent curriculum knowledge in the Performing Arts context of Dance across Years 7-12 and display quality skills and experience in Dance. Interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to contribute positively to a team environment are highly desirable as is prior experience with teaching Gifted and Talented dance.
In addition, you will work closely with students and staff to prepare and present performances across the school year. The successful applicant will ideally possess the professional knowledge, understandings, and experience to develop and implement an engaging and relevant secondary school Arts curriculum. As an expert practitioner you should have a commitment to excellence in teaching and engage in regular self-reflection.
The successful applicant will ideally develop a supportive and positive classroom environment and have proven skills in behaviour management and evidence-based pedagogy.

Narrogin Senior High School (SHS) is a genuine comprehensive educational institution on a whole school improvement journey encompassing Fogarty EDvance. Teachers and School Administrators employed at Narrogin Senior High School in 2025 are eligible to receive a temporary Attraction and Retention Incentive of $2 500 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.
The temporary ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.

Mobility appointments for permanent, metropolitan and south west teachers
Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school* may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.
