About the Role
Child and Family Services works with families where there are children up to 18 years of age. The program aims to enhance family, child, and young people's health and well-being, to help prevent child abuse and neglect and to support the family through major life transitions and times of difficulties. We utilise a strength-based approach in supporting families to achieve their goals and work in alignment with the best interest's framework.
This is a full-time, 12-month fixed term opportunity, based at our Shepparton office.
Day-to-day duties may include: Conduct in-home assessments identifying needs, strengths, and risks in families and individualsProvide therapeutic casework in partnership with children and families to improve and/or address safety and stabilityProvide flexible service delivery to clients, at times outside regular business hoursMaintain program administrative requirements, including maintenance of comprehensive case notesAttend internal and external meetingsFor a more detailed understanding of the key responsibility areas for this role, click here to view the Position Description. Role Requirements Bachelor of Social Work or other tertiary qualification relevant to social welfare practiceSound knowledge of the issues facing vulnerable families including child development, attachment, trauma, and family violenceUnderstanding of relevant theoretical frameworks and legislation including Children Youth and Families Act 2005, the Child Wellbeing and Safety Act 2005, and Child Safe StandardsDemonstrated ability to undertake casework practice using a case management approach. Knowledge and ability to undertake comprehensive child-focused assessments, consultations, family and individual functioning, and parent skill developmentHighly developed interpersonal and communication skills including demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people and diverse communitiesWell-developed administrative skills including maintaining accurate files, detailed assessments, and case notesWillingness to obtain a valid Working with Children Check and satisfactory National Police Check prior to commencing employment with us. If you have spent over 12 months overseas in the last 10 years, you will also be required to undergo an International Police Check or present evidence of a satisfactory checkValid Victorian Driver LicenceThough not essential, the following will be highly regarded: 2+ years of case management experience, including work with children and young families at riskExperience collaborating with a diverse range of culturesBenefits
In addition to a competitive salary of $76,715 - $92,562 (commensurate with qualifications, skills, and experience) + superannuation, you will be rewarded for your important work with:
