The Opportunity:
We are seeking a skilled Communications Engineer to support an existing defence project.
This project will remediate selected ADF radios and encryption devices to meet upcoming algorithm obsolescence. This will ensure ongoing availability of secure communications in support of Defence operations, including through interoperability with key partner communications and intelligence networks.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement communication solutions (e.g., radio, satellite, network systems).
* Ensure system performance meets requirements; resolve hardware and network issues.
* Conduct requirements derivation and analysis, ensuring alignment with high-level system requirements and customer expectations.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to define and document detailed system requirements, including performance, functional, and interface requirements.
* Develop and maintain requirements traceability matrices and ensure consistency throughout the project lifecycle.
* Support the development of verification and validation plans to confirm that systems meet all derived requirements.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, with the ability to hold technical authority
* Proven experience in communications engineering and requirements derivation
* Familiarity with defence systems and standards
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate high-level requirements into detailed technical specifications.
* Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS or equivalent.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
* AGSVA security clearance
