Highly regarded and established private property group Role diversity and a clear pathway towards a CFO position Excellent salary and discretionary bonus Talent Butler Executive Search has exclusively partnered with this highly respected and established private property and development group to place confidence in their business with the appointment of a Financial Controller.The Business Purpose: The group believes that success isn't just about transactions, it's about creating and delivering spaces where businesses can thrive.They have a strong commitment to fostering sustainable growth for both tenants, and their assets.Core Values: Ownership Mentality: Think like long term owners with strategy.Tenant Relationships: Are the foundation of the business.Innovation: Constantly seek better ways to do everything.Teamwork: Working together will achieve greatness.Role Overview: The role leads the financial strategy and operations of this established private property business.The Financial Controller will report to the Directors of the business and oversee all financial activities, ensuring financial health and sustainability.This role is pivotal to driving financial performance, managing capital needs, and aligning financial strategies with the company's growth objectives.The role is supported by a Finance Manager and a wider property accounts team of six full time employees, ensuring accurate commercial accounts.Core Role Functions: All accounting-related activities, including high-level accounting, managerial accounting, and finance activities.Preparation of the operating budgets, overseeing financial reports, and performing essential duties relating to payroll.Monitor variances, summarises trends, and investigates budget deficiencies, reporting material budgeting variances or expenditure variances to upper management.Accounts payable/receivable, payroll, tax, and treasury management, collection, analysis, and consolidation of financial data.Lead the finance team in ensuring timely and accurate financial processing and reporting weekly, monthly and yearly as well as quarterly board reports / tax pack preparations.Manage weekly cash flows, ensuring adequate liquidity for operational needs and project development.Understanding tax returns/financial statements giving clear direction for the external financial advisory groups.To be considered for this role you must meet the following key criteria.Be a Chartered Accountant, ideally having an early foundation of experience with one of the larger advisory firms.Have held prior roles within the property and / or development industry in Australia including experience working for either a High Net Worth individual, or a privately run property and development group.Be comfortable with regular financial reporting across multiple cost centres with no rounding and a great eye for detail.You will have a strong personality with great communication, be able to manage both up and down with conviction and credibility.Be able to work to deadlines and understand that at times, as the key person; longer hours may be a reality, though there is always some flexibility both ways.This is a "hands-on" role, while you will be involved in complex finance matters, you may also need to provide assistance with Accounts Payable and Receivable if required.Why Apply?On offer is a very competitive salary package of between $200,000 and $250,000 and a discretionary bonus based on performance outcomes.There is a pathway for this role to later progress into a CFO role and may also appeal to those currently at CFO level.If you are a forward-thinking and hand's-on finance leader with a passion for driving financial performance in the property and development sector, we invite you to apply or contact us for further discreet information.Talent Butler is a trusted partner to the property industry; you can be confident that this role is being led exclusively by us and that we respond to all applications in a timely manner.
