Regional Business Development Manager

Reports To: Director of SalesPosition Overview:As a Regional Business Development Manager at Red Earth Energy, you will be responsible for growing topline revenue from the sale of Red Earth Energy products to our reseller / solar retailer network. To this end, you will develop and manage long-term strategic relationships across our reseller / solar retailer network. In this role, you will be expected to perform all the activities required to support reseller / solar retailer sales engagement from the selection through the initial meeting or demonstration to the sales order closure. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of solar and battery energy storage systems and their sales in Australia and New Zealand, excellent sales and communication skills, a strategic mindset, the ability to develop and maintain strong customer relationship, and a proven track record of achieving sales targets.Key Responsibilities:Business Development / Reseller Network Development:
Identify, recruit, and onboard new resellers / solar retailers in the region to expand Red Earth Energy Storage’s market reach.
Conduct due diligence to ensure resellers align with the company's values and objectives.
Develop and implement strategies to penetrate new markets and expand the customer base.
Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitor activities.
Evaluate and monitor the performance of resellers, ensuring they comply with company standards.
Reseller Relationship Management:
Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with resellers / solar retailers.
Act as the main point of contact for all resellers in the region, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and addressing their needs and concerns promptly.
Provide ongoing support and training to resellers to ensure they are knowledgeable about products and capable of achieving sales goals; support on-boarding and growth plans for channel partners.
Sales Planning and Execution:
Develop and execute sales plans to meet revenue targets.
Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals to solar installers.
Negotiate and close sales deals, ensuring favourable terms for both the company and the customer.
Technical and Product Expertise:
Maintain a deep understanding of the Red Earth Energy Storage products and solutions.
Provide technical support and product training to solar installers.
Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, regulatory changes, and competitor’s products.
Monitor reseller’s sales performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
Identify potential risks and challenges associated with your reseller / solar retailer network and develop mitigation strategies to address them.
Marketing and Promotion:
Collaborate with the marketing team to create targeted promotional materials and campaigns.
Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to promote Red Earth Energy Storage solutions. Gather and feedback customer and market trends and competitor analysis that helps to inform Red Earth Energy’s future product strategy.
Assist resellers / solar retailers in developing marketing strategies to drive demand for Red Earth Energy Storage products.
Reporting and Analysis:
Accurate and conscientious activity recording/reporting via CRM
Assist the senior leadership team with monthly / quarterly / annual forecasting for the region
Analyse sales data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Provide insights and recommendations to senior management for strategic decision-making.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, business development, or a related role within the solar or energy storage industry.
Strong knowledge of solar and battery energy storage systems across different customer types.
Proven track record of successfully selling technical products to B2B customers.
Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship- building skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Willingness to travel as required.
Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with sales analytics tools.
Understanding of regulatory and policy issues related to solar and energy storage.
Professional certifications or affiliations within the energy industry.
