They are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Credit Underwriter to join their growing team based in North Lakes Qld.Office hours - 8.30 to 5pmMonday to FridayAbout the role:You will be responsible for reviewing and evaluating credit applications from merchants and providing recommendations on approval or rejections based on the risk level and the lending policies of the company. You will communicate with customers & stakeholders and deal with in-and-outbound calls to assist customers regarding re-advances, preparing offers, and general queries.Responsibilities:Review and assess credit applications from merchants, and provide recommendations on approval or rejection based on the risk level and the lending policies of the company.Undertake the overall credit risk / underwriting process, decision making pertaining to the credit assessment of merchant applications as per the authorised lending mandate - capturing of applicable information, performing credit bureau checks.Communicate with clients and stakeholders, and provide feedback and guidance on credit applications.Maintain records and documentation of credit decisions, and comply with relevant regulations and compliance standards.Assist with merchant incoming calls relating to general queries involving the Credit Risk / Underwriting Team.Assist with the overall daily collection debit order process, managing the changing of daily debit orders, dealing with unpaids and the liaison with the merchants as appropriate.Keep up to date with the financial services industry, the credit market, and the best practices in credit underwriting.Provide input into the maintenance of all credit risk policies, workflows, and other relevant credit risk / underwriting documentation.Provide credit risk support / guidance to the broader organisation to ensure common understanding.Assist in the production and presentation of portfolio and operational analytical results.Requirements:A relevant qualification or equivalent work experience in the field of credit underwriting.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to evaluate financial information and risk factors.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work effectively with clients and stakeholders.Attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.Knowledge of the financial services industry, the credit market, and the relevant regulations and compliance standards.Full working rights – Must be an Australian Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident.Seniority levelEntry levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionFinance and SalesIndustriesIT Services and IT Consulting
