Our dedication to safety and reputation for quality and innovation help our customers reach beyond what they thought possible.Role SummaryCHC Helicopters Australia is looking to appoint a Deputy Manager Flight Operations based in Perth, Western Australia. Reporting to the Manager Flight Operations, you will work in collaboration with the Australian management team and global flight operations team in ensuring business leadership and overall management of CHC APAC Flight operations and training is conducted to the highest standard.As the secondary nominated person for the Australian AOC, you will ensure that all CHC aviation operations meet the safety and service delivery standards expected by regulators and internal and external customers. The role will maintain a high standard of operational excellence, with a focus on promoting a Just Culture that supports a continuous process of improvement.Key Responsibilities Assist the MFO in driving departmental efficiencies which includes structure, cost management, headcount, rosters and work practices.Assist in managing departmental manpower planning and implementation to deliver customer contract requirements.Hold an influential role in the development of CHC flight standards and policy development.Retain a close customer focus on all flight operations and training matters.Support CHC Sales and Commercial teams with tender preparation.Assist with union labour negotiations and grievances with the support of HR.Drive implementation of global & local requirements, and adherence to CHC harmonised flight operations, training standards and procedures.Be the substitute accountable post holder for the safety conduct of flight operations and training where required.Assist the Safety and Quality team with Flight Data Monitoring (FDM) and flight compliance programs and reviews.Assist in liaison with the Regulator and ensure CHC compliance with all appropriate rules and CASA regulations.Adhere to all SMS accountabilities as determined in the CHC Australia Safety Management Manual.Travel overseas and interstate as required, at times with short notice.Skills/Experience: Minimum Australian ATPL (H) and with experience as an offshore and/or SAR pilot.Post graduate qualifications in Management or similar is advantageous.Rated on multiple types presently operating by CHC Australia is preferred.Meet CASA requirements for CASA Head of Flying Operations / Chief Pilot.Must be IOGP compliant for Captain.Must hold a command helicopter instrument rating with an Instructor and/or examiner rating on one or more of CHC AUS active types.Effective leadership skills with the ability to mentor and drive team performance.Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders at all levels.Excellent communications skills both verbal and written.Demonstrable experience with operational, commercial and budget planning processes to support business objectives.Knowledge and/or experience in safety, quality assurance and risk management systems.Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple demands, in a high volume, rapidly changing environment.Must be an ambassador and advocate of CHC Company values of Accountability, Collaboration, Care, Integrity and Excellence.Applicants must be an Australian citizen and be able to hold and maintain applicable clearances as required for the position.
