We are values driven and work as One with respect for Ailan Kastom.About the role:Assist and oversee the Divisional Engineering Officers to efficiently run the successful implementation of Council's corporate and operational plans to achieve key objectives and the continuity of essential services and funded projects for the communities including; a) water and sewerage, b) minor civil works, c) waste management, d) parks and gardens, and e) air and sea ports.What We're Looking ForWe need someone who shares our values of One, Respect, Accountability, Courage, and Resilience. The ideal candidate will have:Significant experience in a supervisory or team leader role.Vocational Studies (or equivalent) in civil operations or water operations or a technical trade background, along with significant engineering and/or construction experience.Demonstrated experience in a similar, relevant role in wastewater, water or a related industry.Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety standards and regulatory requirements.Sound knowledge of computer literacy and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (i.e., Outlook, Word). Knowledge of Council systems an advantage.A demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and manage workload in an environment of changing and competing priorities.A current (open and unrestricted) Queensland Driver's licence.Demonstrated understanding of the issues impacting Torres Strait Islander people together with the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively.Frequent travel throughout the Torres Strait Islands and Cairns is a requirement of this position.Ready to Apply?Make a difference in your community!
