AGL is looking for a Category Manager to join our Procurement team and help shape our external spend strategy to deliver exceptional value across the business.As a Category Manager at AGL Bayswater Power Station, you'll be at the forefront of strategic procurement-partnering with internal stakeholders, engaging with suppliers, running tendering processes, leading negotiations, and managing contracts to ensure the best commercial, operational, and sustainability outcomes. What you'll be doing: Develop and implement category plans using data-driven insights and thorough market analysis.Lead end-to-end sourcing activities with SAP Ariba, ensuring strict compliance with company processes and policies.Lead contract negotiations to secure cost savings, enhance capabilities, and effectively manage risk benefits.Collaborate across business units to align procurement strategies with operational goals.Manage supplier relationships and performance to ensure optimal outcomes.Provide commercial support for key projects, driving successful execution.Contribute to procurement process improvements and broader team objectives. What we're looking for: Proven experience in procurement or supply chain sourcing, including category management.Strong commercial acumen and extensive contract negotiation experience.Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.Ability to analyse spend, supplier capabilities, and market conditions to identify value opportunities.Experience drafting high-quality contracts and category documentation.A continuous improvement mindset and the ability to work calmly under pressure. What you will have: Degree in a Commercial/Business discipline or Engineering preferred.MCIPS certification desirable.Can do, Will do attitude.Proactive and autonomous.Energy, Heavy industry, Industrial, Mining, Defence, Site Services, Projects or Maintenance background preferred but happy to meet with others outside of this industry.Applications close: 11.55pm on 27th of April 2025.
