At our day hospitals, you will find friendly, highly experienced administrative and specialist theatre teams, led by an on-site Director of Nursing.
We have a full time opportunity for an Administration Officer / Receptionist with medical or day surgery experience to join our Boroondara Day Surgery team based in Hawthorn.
Conveniently located in the inner eastern suburbs, Boroondara Day Surgery in Melbourne is an architecturally designed, state-of-the-art facility for ophthalmic surgery.
Whilst this role is primarily based from our Boroondara location, as a large group of day surgeries and consulting clinics across Melbourne, there is an expectation that the successful person would be available to assist other teams from surrounding locations from time to time.
Primary Responsibilities: Be the primary point of contact for people to interact with the Day Surgery with a high-quality approach to customer service, have an excellent telephone manner.
Flexibility to assist in other administrative functions as required.
General administrative duties: patient accounts, banking procedures, health fund checks and payments Communicate and liaise with doctor rooms, theatre manager and staff.
Deliver accurate and timely surgical, and/or theatre booking information and documentation.
Use the patient management system and other interfaces to capture all relevant patient details and prepare and transmit paperwork and correspondence.
Answer general enquiries and telephone calls in a timely and professional manner.
Manage patient records including retrieval, filing and archiving.
About the role: You will be the primary point of contact for the day surgery and can demonstrate high-quality customer service to our patients, practitioners and other stakeholders.
You'll bring with you:
Demonstrated experience in providing high level administrative support within the medical industry.
Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information professionally.
Extensive experience and skill in all Microsoft packages.
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities and problem solve.
You are a quick learner, able to work independently and part of a team and capable of functioning at a high level to prioritise work within established policies, guidelines and procedures.
