Head Chef & Chef's Positions – Smokey Joe’s Café, Ramada Hervey BaySmokey Joe’s Café at Ramada Hervey Bay is looking for an experienced and qualified Head Chef/Chefs to lead and join our kitchen team. We operate 7 days a week, serving breakfast and dinner to in-house guests, locals, tourists, and function attendees.About the Role:As the Head Chef, you’ll be responsible for all kitchen operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, creative, and tasty dishes while maintaining excellent customer service. You’ll work directly with the CEO and manage a small, hands-on team.Key Responsibilities:Lead and mentor the kitchen team.Oversee food preparation, cooking, and plating.Maintain consistency in quality, presentation, and timely service.Develop and cost menus, manage rosters, and control food costs.Ensure food safety, hygiene, and compliance with workplace health and safety regulations.What We’re Looking For:Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role.Professional presentation and strong leadership skills.Ability to stay calm and manage smooth food service under pressure.Experience in menu planning, costing, stock management, and budgeting.Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.Food Safety Supervisor certification.Computer skills for stock takes and ordering.Perks of the Role:Casual position transitioning to a permanent salaried role after the probationary period.If you’re passionate about creating great food and leading a team, we’d love to hear from you.Please send your resume and cover letter to apply.
