You will be responsible for development and management of the Minerals strategic procurement function for Australia - specifically the procurement strategy, category and supplier development and all logistic processes. This position is located in our West Perth office.Team you belong toThe members in our team are located locally in Australia and globally. This position has heavy interface with the country’s various site operational heads of procurement and is supported strongly by a wide global team.What you’ll doWork with various business lines, head of procurements (HOP) and the Global Category Team to develop supply strategies.Own the procurement supply/sourcing strategy implementation and results by using the Minerals Global Procurement Category and Support teams. Includes equipment projects, standard equipment, services, parts, export, internal and indirect spend.Support and drive the global procurement process implementation and compliance, and strategic day-to-day procurement success.Ensure procurement activities meet Metso Legal and Policy compliance.Interfaces with other HOP to ensure synergies where possible.Assist and develop procurement functionality training and development programs, as well as employee training and development, as required.Oversee the entire supply chain process, including procurement, production, inventory management, and distribution.Lead and mentor a team of supply chain professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of supply chain operations.Supports supplier approval and removal policies and procedures.Strong supplier contract negotiation leadership skills.Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to drive innovation and improvement.Who you areBachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering or equivalent required; Post graduate studies in procurement and/or logistics preferred.Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in business and procurement functions, with demonstrated increasing roles.Ten (10) years at management level, ideally in a western, matrix business environment.Five (5) years’ experience in Mining and Construction heavy industries, or similar heavy industries.Superior organizational and analytical skills are essential.Strong knowledge of the business functions of sales, supply, engineering, finance, human resources, business systems and IT infrastructure.Experience with SAP ERP environmental ideal.Must maintain valid passport and ability to secure required visas for global travel (up to 15% travel).Capable problem-solving skills.Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.A high level of computer skills is essential – Excel, Word and PowerPoint plus knowledge of Lotus Notes applications.Highly motivated individual with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.Strong communication skills, plus co-operation, interpersonal and presentation skills to manage internal and external interfaces.High sense of urgency.Regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. Frequently required to stand and walk, and occasionally required to climb, balance or stoop. May occasionally lift and/or move up to 9kgs.
