Engineering Geologist and Geotechnical Engineer Positions at {company}
Job Overview
A well-established geotechnical consultancy is seeking engineering geologists of all levels to join their team. The company provides expert engineering geology, engineering geomorphology, and geotechnical engineering services for large-scale mining projects from conception to operation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accountability for occupational health and safety in the work area, ensuring compliance with company, client, and statutory requirements.
2. Proposal/bid preparation and management, including addressing scope, contract requirements, schedule development, costing, identifying and verifying suitable sub-contractors, writing, and reviewing.
3. Conducting or providing input to risk analyses to identify critical geo-risks and uncertainties, as well as investigation and management strategies to address them.
4. Assisting with planning and project management of geotechnical studies from site selection through detailed design, construction, and operation.
5. Conducting geotechnical site investigations, including desktop studies, engineering geological mapping and logging, supervision of ground investigation programs, geophysical surveys, and site trials and insitu testing.
6. Analyzing/providing input to the analyses of slope stability in cuttings (rock and soil) and embankments, foundations, pavements for roads, rail earthworks, and airstrips, and identifying sources of various types of fill required for projects.
Requirements
* Tertiary qualification in Engineering Geology/Geological Engineering/Geotechnical Engineering
* Commitment to meeting quality management and safety systems requirements
* Understanding of AS1726 requirements
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with a wide range of project personnel
* A full manual WA drivers license (or eligibility to obtain)
* Ability to travel to site, often on short notice
* Desire to be involved in dynamic, large-scale, fast-track projects where engineering geology contributes to their success
