The Role & The Team
An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated and experienced an Emergency Vehicle Technician Band 3 at Darwin airport. In this role you will be responsible to apply specialised mechanical knowledge to the asset lifecycle maintenance function to ensure cost-effective and efficient delivery of asset management for our national Aviation Rescue Fire Fighting Services (ARFFS) business group. The assets involved are a fleet of fire fighting vehicles, water rescue vessels and mechanical plant.
To be a successful applicant you must have experience in heavy vehicle mechanical maintenance and be comfortable resolving complex faults within short timeframes whilst supporting maintenance of other ARFFS assets.
As an Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) Band 3 you will be part of a small team maintaining the operational integrity and capability of the Aviation Rescue Fire Fighting fleet and ensure all fire vehicles, inshore rescue boats, associated training equipment and other miscellaneous mechanical equipment meet the requirements of Airservices Australia and any Statutory Authority Rulings that are applicable.

The successful applicant will have;
* Heavy vehicle knowledge and experience is mandatory;
* Comprehensive knowledge and expertise with respect to vehicle electrical systems and fault diagnosis;
* Ability to complete modifications in accordance with engineering instructions;
* Demonstrated experience in a complex work environment and ability to resolve complex multi-disciplinary vehicle and ancillary equipment faults;
* Relevant trade qualifications.
