We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Disability Support Worker to join our team on a permanent full-time basis (Sunday-Thursday).
This position manages the day-to-day operation of a Supported Independent Living (SIL) house. This includes the direct supervision and mentorship of Disability Support Workers (DSW), Advanced DSWs, and hotel services to deliver client-directed care and support in line with Brightwater’s Mission and values. This position also supports the SIL Coordinators and the Manager, SIL to develop and implement strategies to ensure operational efficiency and financial sustainability of the service.

To be suitable for this role, you must possess:
Certificate III in Aged Care/Disability/Individualised Support.
Demonstrated capability in effectively leading a team, including coordinating human and financial resources within a care service environment.
Strong commitment to providing, with the capability to deliver, safe high-quality care.
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills and understanding of effective change management.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills in various environments and the ability to inclusively communicate with a diverse range of people.
Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload, work effectively under pressure, problem-solve, and use resources effectively, safely, and efficiently.
Good understanding of Quality and Safeguarding principles in disability care service delivery and National Disability Standards, with working knowledge of occupational safety and health legislation.
Proven customer-focused work ethic aligned to Brightwater’s Mission and values.
Strong person-centred skills and behaviours in communicating and engaging with clients with high support needs. This may include experience working with people with acquired brain injury and/or neurodegenerative disorders and previous experience delivering supported independent living services (desirable).
Current Western Australian ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence.
You will also have:
First Aid Certificate less than three years old (desirable).
Reliable registered vehicle and comprehensive insurance (where applicable).
Current satisfactory National Police Certificate obtained within the last 12 months.
