Job Description
As a Mechanical Engineer for the Structural and Sheet Metal Workshop, you will be associated with Plate & Tube Laser Cutting and Robotic & MIG Welding Machines.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and develop mechanical components and systems for laser cutting and robotic/MIG welding machines.
* Optimize mechanical systems and processes to improve machine efficiency and performance.
* Collaborate with other engineers and designers to integrate mechanical systems with electrical and software components.
* Create and modify 3D models and drawings using CAD software.
* Conduct feasibility studies and research to determine the best mechanical solutions for specific applications.
* Develop and implement testing and validation procedures to ensure quality and reliability of mechanical systems.
* Analyse and interpret data from testing and validation procedures to identify areas for improvement.
* Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure efficient and cost-effective production of mechanical components and systems.
* Provide technical support to customers and field service teams for fabricated components manufactured using laser and robotic/MIG welding machines.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
* 3-5 years of experience in design and development of mechanical systems and components using laser cutting and robotic/MIG welding machines.
* Proficiency in 3D modelling and CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
* Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.
* Experience with metal laser cutting and robotic/MIG welding machines, including operational knowledge of laser and robotics, is highly desirable.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to analyse and interpret data to identify areas for improvement.
* Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
* Experience with project management and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
