This position will play a vital role in ensuring the financial integrity of our operations.
This role will support the Finance Manager and Financial Accountant in various aspects of accounting, finance, tax, payroll, and administrative processes, while contributing to systems improvements and strategic projects.Key Responsibilities:Prepare monthly management reports and financial dashboards to monitor financial performance against the budget.Conduct variance analysis to compare actual results with budgeted figures and responding to financial inquiries.Assist with the preparation of annual budgets, forecasting financial needs, preparing detailed budget reports.Assist in preparing year-end statutory financial statements and reporting.Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure timely completion of month-end closing processes.Process credit card statements within set deadlines.Maintain and update the fixed asset register.Reconcile all operating bank accounts.Prepare monthly BAS statements.Contribute to systems and process improvement initiatives.Assist in the bi-annual review of charitable status and tax concessions.Provide backup support to the Account Officer (for accounts receivables and payables) and Payroll Officer (processing fortnightly payroll to approximately 150 staff).Providing support with ad-hoc projects from time to time.What you will need – CriteriaMinimum of 5 – 6 years proven experience in bookkeeping in accounting, finance, and payroll functions (preferably a Not-for-Profit sector).CPA/CA qualification preferred, however not essential.Proficient in the use of various software.Ability to manage and prioritise a busy workload.Strong attention to detail, excellent work ethic, and ability to work unsupervised or as part of a team.A willingness and capacity to embrace the Mission and Values of the organisation.What we offerImmediate start for the right person.Competitive remuneration.Salary packaging options that will increase your take home pay.Employee Benefits Scheme to assist in wellness activities.Free onsite parking with public transport nearby including a train service.Safe and inclusive work environment in a friendly, values-driven organisation with excellent working conditions.About usSSJG Ministries Inc. is a charitable organisation operated by the Sisters of St John of God.
