We work with Government, Mining, Energy and Private clients, domestically and internationally, and we maintain strong geoscience skillsets in the services we provide.Market demand has accelerated our growth, and we now have an immediate opening for an Hydrogeologist.The RoleWe require a Hydrogeologist to support project delivery and business growth across a range of domestic and international commitments, including but not restricted to groundwater resource projects and other aspects of the water cycle.The role will comprise:Home office-based project work such as project management, technical reporting, overseeing the completion by others of numerous technical analyses including modelling, completing technical analyses yourself, deliverable development and quality. It will include preparing and supervising the production of reports where required, as well as client management and communications, project metrics and progress reporting, field program design and planning, client and stakeholder meetings and interactions.Field work, likely to include planning and site progress visitations, program kick-offs, numerical modeller project immersion, and field rotations if desired by the successful candidate.Office visitations to GWA locations and to client sites for project and business development purposes.Training and development support to the broader GWA team, and support in the development and delivery of training modules for market release.As a technical and project leadership role you must maintain the application of technical skills throughout. The successful candidate will lead and deliver projects and manage or undertake a range of technical tasks and will also guide and support project level staff development.Preparing and analysing spatial and temporal data to support the development of project and non-project deliverables such as technical reports, presentations and papers.Undertaking groundwater exploration activities to assess viability of groundwater based supplies through field mapping, drilling and coring, bore installation and testing programs. Use of technical and scientific equipment in the field to support such analyses.Sourcing and analysing geological data in a range of formats from simple mapping to complex three-dimensional modelling, including structural and weathering detail.Converting conceptual hydrogeological models to numerical simulations using 1D, 2D and 3D platforms, and advancing model construction through to calibration, simulation and uncertainty analysis.Evaluating natural and anthropogenic hydrological drivers such as climate, hydrology and engineered structures.Supporting field studies, mapping and drilling and testing campaigns.An example of project type this role will be involved with includes mine dewatering and depressurisation, mine water supply, environmental compliance, resource development applications (impact assessments), tailings hydrogeology, mine water chemistry, town water supply, CSG water management and groundwater focused studies, including development application support.
