In this dynamic role, you will provide high-level support to staff while playing a key part in shaping the next generation of veterinary professionals. You’ll coordinate daily hospital activities, mentor and supervise VTH staff, and assist in the hands-on teaching of veterinary and veterinary technology students in a real-world clinical setting.Key Responsibilities Will IncludeProvide skilled support to veterinary staff, including specialists, while supervising, mentoring, and guiding veterinary technicians, nurses, and interns.Assist in hands-on training of veterinary and veterinary technology students, ensuring high standards in clinical education.Communicate effectively with VTH staff and students to ensure smooth operations while developing, maintaining, and adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).Maintain and manage specialised veterinary equipment, assist with radiography, CT, MRI, and perform diagnostic clinical pathology techniques.Oversee dispensary inventory, pricing, stock-taking, and use practice management software for efficient administration and business operations.Deliver exceptional customer service to clients, students, and staff while providing administrative support across the clinic, including reception duties when needed.About UQ VETSA career at UQ VETS means making a difference to not only the lives of the people and animals in your care, but also the next generation of vets and vet technicians. The Centre includes a 16 – table surgical teaching facility and is also used for veterinary continuing education events. The Clinical Studies Centre is also home to the School’s Pets-for-Life Adoption Program.
