Use your expertise in policy to support delivery of critical Victorian urban waterways policy and programs.
The Urban Waterways team leads the policy agenda and implements Victoria's regional action plans for urban waterways, working with a range of stakeholders and partners to apply a holistic approach to urban waterway management.
As Policy Officer, you will play a critical role in delivery of the $10 million Green Links Grants Program and Victoria's urban waterway action plans, with a focus on pollution prevention programs, stormwater management reform, and strategic river corridor planning. You will be called on to build networks and work collaboratively on cross-cutting environmental, social and cultural considerations for our urban rivers and creeks.
As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
* Sound project management capability
* Sound conceptual and analytical skills, with an ability to analyse complex policy issues and provide accurate and strategic advice
* Ability to prepare and deliver logical, accurate and audience-appropriate briefings and presentations
* Willingness to learn new reporting and tracking systems
Having a background in the water sector and/or land use planning would be advantageous but not essential. A passion for urban waterways is a must!
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
A tertiary qualification in science, engineering, economics, urban planning or related field is desirable.
Prior experience using project and/or grant management systems (e.g. GEMS) would be desirable
This is a fixed term position available for a period of 11 Months. The work location for this position is 8 Nicholson Street, East Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.
