What does the role involve
As the OT Learning and Development Advisor in the Professional Practice and Development portfolio, your main responsibility is to support the delivery of Occupational Therapy Australia's learning and development offerings. This involves developing and delivering learning resources, scheduling the Learning and Development program, collaborating with internal teams and stakeholders, and maintaining effective working relationships to ensure that offerings are aligned across the organisation. Your work will involve keeping across evidence-based research, quality improvement, and compliance controls, as well as reporting activities.

What we need in the role
The OT Learning and Development Advisor should possess a broad understanding of issues facing the occupational therapy profession across all areas in Australia. The successful candidate will have experience in developing and delivering learning and development resources for occupational therapists and have a sound understanding of the AHPRA practice standards, professional practice and development matters, as well as current and emerging issues for occupational therapists. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, and have proven experience working with diverse stakeholder groups to build and maintain effective working relationships.

The team
You will be part of the Professional Practice and Development team, working closely with the Manager of Learning and Development, OT Practice Advisors and the Learning and Development team members. Your role will require you to consistently interact with other teams at OTA, in particular our Events and Marketing team as well as several other stakeholders across the business.

What responsibilities form part of this role?
* Support the development and delivery of learning and development resources that compliment all areas of OTA and provide valuable resources to the OT profession.
* Schedule the Learning and Development program and annual calendar in accordance with organisational strategic and operational objectives.
* Provide contributions that align with evidence-based best practice, practice standards, and member feedback for the development of learning and development resources.
* Undertake horizon scanning to ensure OTA's learning and development initiatives align to key policy and reform activities, professional requirements, and considers internal and external environmental conditions.
* Ensure that learning and development resources meet organisational and member needs and that offerings are aligned across the organisation.
* Contribute to relevant projects, programs, and resources as required.
* Cultivate and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams and look for opportunities to improve work practices and processes.
* Apply continuous quality improvement principles and processes to learning and development offerings.
* Actively participate in relevant panels, committees, meetings, groups, and forums, and represent the OTA Learning and Development team to internal and external stakeholders.
* Collaborate with key stakeholders to support appropriate and effective knowledge transfer processes and assist with change management to develop confidence and competence in the Learning and Development programs and systems.
* Contribute to accurate and effective reporting processes in line with established OTA procedures.

Requirements
The successful candidate for this role will likely have:
* A degree in Occupational Therapy, and registration as an Occupational Therapist with AHPRA.
* Experience in the coordination, development, and/or delivery of learning and development resources for occupational therapists.
* A broad understanding and ability to connect with issues facing the occupational therapy profession across all areas in Australia.
* Demonstrated experience in quality or process improvement, governance, and compliance controls.
* Qualifications and/or experience in the development of adult learning educational programs, and/or practice guidelines and/or policies.
* Qualifications and/or experience in leading evidence-based quality improvement, research, and/or other projects.
* Excellent time management and organisational skills to effectively plan, coordinate, and prioritise individual and teamwork tasks.
* Excellent writing and research skills to develop evidence-based educational and resource packages.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
* Proven experience working with diverse stakeholder groups to build and maintain effective working relationships in order to support the exchange of advice and information.
* Demonstrated computer literacy in the MS Office Suite, learning management systems, and virtual meeting platforms in order to create effective documentation and correspondence and support positive learning experiences.
* Capacity to work independently within the parameters of the role.

Desirable qualifications and experience:
* Relevant or transferrable allied health/clinical expertise and/or experience.
* Postgraduate qualification in learning and development, training and assessment, or business development.
* Experience with IT systems including Office365, Learning Management Systems, Customer Relationship Management Systems, web-based meeting systems.
