About the Roles
adaptbl is seeking experienced lawyers specialising in administrative law and/or statutory interpretation for positions with a Commonwealth Government client. A background or interest in ICT law is highly desirable.
Where: Ideally, you’ll be based in Canberra. Other locations may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide expert advice on a broad range of administrative law and statutory interpretation issues, including privacy matters
* Your advice will often relate to communications and information technology, including in the context of large-scale projects
* Utilise high-level judgment and critical thinking to analyse issues and develop solutions for the agency
* Communicate legal issues, results, and implications effectively to stakeholders
* Stay current with legal developments and policy changes affecting the agency
Required Skills and Experience
* Extensive expertise in administrative law and/or statutory interpretation
* 4 - 20+ years of post-admission experience (PAE)
* Proven ability to deliver high-quality legal services efficiently
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Effective stakeholder management skills
* Tertiary qualifications in law and admission as a legal practitioner in the High Court or a Supreme Court of a State or Territory
Secondment length: Initial 6-month contract/labour hire arrangements, with the potential for additional 6-month extensions.
Other engagement options? Non-ongoing arrangements or s26 transfers may be possible for the right candidates.
Eligibility: only Australian citizens with an existing Baseline (or above) security clearance can be considered for these roles.
