With ambitious growth targets, RWE Renewables expects to manage an increasing portfolio of major Wind, Solar and Battery storage projects in Australia.
This is an exciting opportunity to be a leading part of the team responsible for the outcome of these projects from the final investment decision (FID) through to commercial operations (COD), in a safe, timely, high quality and on-budget manner, including handing over the finished Project to RWE Operations
Your tasks
1. Reporting to the Head of Construction (Australia), you will be allocated to a mixture of Projects in both Construction and Development.
2. You will also be encouraged to integrate with the wider team and lead on certain Department and Company initiatives.
3. You will be required to help mentor and develop more junior colleagues.
4. You will be expected to be involved in a wide range of different activities, applying experience and competence in the following works.
Pre Construction Phase:
5. Discharge of Planning Conditions / Permit Requirements – working with Development
6. Specification writing – with Engineering
7. Tender assessment – with Procurement
8. Contract negotiation – with Procurement / Legal
9. Project planning including Time / Budgets / Quality and HSE
10. Risk management including mitigation strategies
11. Recruitment of Project team – internal and external
12. Capex estimates and contributions to Board Approval process
Construction Phase:
13. Leading the internal Project team, including other Project Managers, you will be directly responsible for the successful outcome of the Project including the following activities :
14. Contract management of Turbine and Balance of Plant Contracts during design, manufacture, installation and commissioning.
15. Contract management of Grid works.
16. Chairing Progress, Technical and other Meetings
17. Management and supervision of Consultants and Site personnel.
18. External Stakeholder management to include Local Liaison / Landowners / Council or Municipalities / Drainage Boards etc.,
19. Internal Stakeholder management including with RWER Board.
20. Active HSE and QA management
21. Project planning including tracking and delay mitigation
22. Project reporting including Time / Budget / Risk / Quality and HSE.
23. Handing over to Operations and project wrap up including Lessons Learned / Continuous Improvement
24. Internal Stakeholder management including with RWER Board.

Your Profile
29. Successfully completed university studies in Engineering, (typically Civil / Electrical or Mechanical) or other related discipline.
30. Approximately 10+ years of relevant experience within project management / construction, ideally within the Renewable or Energy sector.
31. Track record in successful project outcomes across the full life cycle of a multi million A$ construction project.
32. Excellent communication with fluent professional English required.
33. Good Project Management, leadership and strong interpersonal skills
34. Team player.
35. Flexibility and willingness to learn new skills
36. Knowledge of Australian HSE regulations and standards
37. MS Office tools proficient user, including MS Project
38. Willingness to travel
