Established timber manufacturing plant in Clarkson seeking a Mechanical Fitter for a four-day, 46-hour week. Casual, guaranteed hours for a Timber and Lumber Plant - Northern Suburbs in Perth. Paid through Crest as a casual, but the work extremely consistent, our established, thriving client is a producer and seller of timber and lumber products for the agricultural and construction markets. If you are a mechanical fitter who likes the buzz of a busy, on-your-toes type of workplace, read on 50AUD an hour 11.5% super Casual contract, but 46 hours a week (Mon-Thu or Tue-Fri, 6AM to 6PM, half hour unpaid lunch) Call out work extremely rare but paid at 1.5x As part of the mechanical fitting team, you will be given an opportunity to work within a large-scale production environment. As most fitters do, you will be maintaining, installing and rectifying issues with their plant and equipment on-site. If you're handy with hydraulics and pneumatic systems, or have worked on plant like log de-barkers, lathes, veneer driers or rip-saws, this is the role for you. The client has an ongoing commitment to training and development, but their main priority is you being reliable, friendly and good at the job. Your principal duties will include: Regularly maintaining plant and equipment. Rectifying breakdowns within a timely manner. Diagnosing issues using critical and logical thinking. Equipment installation and fabrication. Using SAP computer systems where necessary. Flexibility to be available for on-call work when required. Essential Selection Criteria: Trade qualification in mechanical fitter (Australian standard). Minimum of two years in a fixed plant manufacturing setting. Knowledge of conveying systems. Demonstrated commitment to safe operation. Forklift Licence. Desired Selection Criteria: Knowledge of hydraulic & pneumatic systems. EWP certificate. Working at heights confirmation of competency. Confined space confirmation of competency. Availability beyond twelve months.
