Your Role:
The primary purpose of this role is to contribute to the achievement of department, branch and corporate goals relative to profit, growth, service producer and client relations.
Your Responsibilities:
1. Book Management
Achieve new business, rate and retention targets for assigned book of business to support the achievement of Unit/SBU/Branch revenue and profit goals via a number of key strategies, including:
1. Design and implementation of effective portfolio analysis, profit and retention strategies
2. Collaboration with NUC and other internal customers regarding book management strategy and maintenance of “one voice” with brokers; provide feedback and possible solutions to NUC
3. Monitoring/reporting on status of open claims for assigned accounts (or in area of specialty) and make recommendations
4. Thorough and considered preparation for account reviews with management, demonstrating knowledge of risk, industry, competitive environment and Chubb’s products and capabilities
2. Underwriting Quality & Compliance
Adhere to appropriate underwriting, compliance and file documentation standards and workflows to support the achievement of Branch/SBU revenue and profit goals:
1. Evaluate and accept or decline new lines, renewals and endorsements within scope of delegated authority
2. Evaluate and make recommendation for acceptance or declination on risks which exceed authority
3. Recommend account trade off decisions
4. Provide input to Manager on profit analysis, premium planning, market and environment analysis as appropriate
3. Broker and Key Account Management
Manage broker and key account relationships for assigned territory through proactive communication, visitation and collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders to retain and grow the business:
1. Visit assigned producers to discuss risks, communicate Chubb’s business appetites, and to produce new business
2. Monitor assigned producers performance by analysing quality, volume and mix of business by producer
3. Plan and execute a regular and ongoing quality underwriting travel program to promote understanding of and support for underwriting and marketing goals
4. Responsible, appropriate and strategic management of resources and expenses associated with the above activities
Qualifications
* Appropriate levels of subject matter expertise in relation to pricing techniques, alternative risk transfer and the development of reserves by individual case and by book of business
* Working knowledge of the key accounts in the Branch
* Understanding the underwriting appetites of the other departments and associated relationships with interdepartmental accounts
* Judgement, experience and confidence to make appropriate recommendations for tailoring coverage and manuscripting policies
* Familiarity with the products / services of key competitors
* Demonstrable capacity and efficacy in utilising negotiation strategies to achieve constructive business outcomes
* Demonstrated ability to work well with people and influence decisions
