THE ROLE As a Senior Event Manager, you will oversee the planning and execution of major events throughout the Northern Territory. As part of the Senior Management team within the Events and Operations department, you will support and develop other team members and contribute positively to the broader team.NTMEC boasts a diverse and impressive portfolio of major events for you to help lead, they include: Parrtjima – the only authentic Aboriginal light festival of its kind, BASSINTHEGRASS, the Territory’s biggest musical festival, a premier NRL match; Betr Darwin Triple Crown - Supercars Indigenous Round, and the Company’s first international event, MXGP of Australia. You will be involved in every aspect of the event, including strategy, budgeting, event experience planning and the final delivery.Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Contribute to the planning and delivery of the NTMEC event portfolio in a leadership capacity.
Oversee a team of event managers and coordinators, focusing on their professional growth.
Contribute to the planning and allocation of events, goals, outcomes, tasks, and workflow across team members.
Provide strategic leadership and guidance to the Head of Events and Operations regarding your event portfolio and broader business operations.
Manage multiple aspects of the event portfolio simultaneously, including event experience, content, safety, logistics and operations.
Evaluate, shape and implement policies and procedures and business systems.
Create and execute initiatives and targets for each event aligned with the business’s strategic plan.
Contribute to workplace health and safety and risk management.
Oversee and manage contacts related to event delivery and services.
Engage with stakeholders, including city, partner and event related contacts.
About you:

Demonstrated leadership skills with a track record for motivating and guiding teams effectively.
Proven experience in comprehensive event management, demonstrating capacity in managing complex and concurrent events and projects.
Expertise in comprehensive event management from start to finish.
Experience in identifying, managing and mitigating risks.
At least 8 years of experience in a leadership or management role within the events industry.
A relevant tertiary or post graduate qualification.
Strong knowledge and understanding of the Northern Territory.
Proven ability in managing contracts to ensure mutually beneficial outcomes and compliance.
Willingness and ability to work outside normal working hours, including public holidays and weekends, to support events delivery.
