The Role
We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Kitchen Hand/Food Services Assistant to join our caring team at Yackandandah Health. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring our residents enjoy high-quality meals that contribute to their health and happiness.
Working in a supportive environment, you will assist with food preparation, maintain kitchen cleanliness, and help deliver an exceptional dining experience for our aged care residents. Your contributions will directly support their comfort and wellbeing, making this a truly rewarding opportunity.
Reporting to the Support Services Team Leader, the support services team play a pivotal role in delivering essential services at the highest quality.
What you will do
1. Preparation and presentation of dietary services, including meals and drinks
2. Distribution of meals to residents, assisting the chef with meal preparation, cleaning, and general kitchen duties
3. Dining room services
4. Providing excellent personalised service to our residents
5. Ensure duties are performed in accordance with Infection Control and Food Safety Handling Standards
6. Ensure a high standard and quality of cleanliness throughout the organisation.
7. Clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment.
8. Completion of documentation
What you will bring
1. Trade certification or qualifications and experience gained in a similar role, preferably within an Aged Care setting
2. Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
3. Currently hold and maintain a NDIS Check (or willing to obtain)
4. An understanding of Resident Rights, Aged Care Accreditation Standards, and Outcomes is highly regarded but not essential
