An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and motivated Registered Nurse who has great sexual health and leadership skills to work at the Short Street Centre. Where you'll be working The position is primarily located at the Short St Centre (SSC), on the grounds of St George Hospital, however, may be required to work across other SESLHD SHBBV services if necessary. The Role The Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 (CNS2) is responsible for the coordination and delivery of high-quality nursing care to clients attending SSC services consistent with SESLHD policies, procedures, and standards. The CNS2 will provide a diverse range of specialist services including sexual health assessment, STI screening, treatment, outreach services, client and community education and health promotion; triage and telephone services, including information and results provision. SESLHD's Sexual Health and Blood Borne Virus Service (SHBBV) provides leadership, innovation, and research in the sector. Services within SHBBV are involved in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of Sexually Transmissible Infections (STIs) and blood borne viruses at an individual and population level within SESLHD, as well as four statewide services. Across these services, care is provided via fixed locations and outreach networks to a client base of approximately 28,000 individuals. SHBBV has highly skilled and diverse staff including nursing, medical, allied health, health promotion, administrative, and technical staff. It is the largest SHBBV service in Australia. Selection Criteria Current registration as a Registered Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia, and relevant post-registration qualifications and a minimum of 3 years clinical nursing experience in sexual health, or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate. Demonstrated advanced clinical practice in caring for clients with STIs, including demonstrated contribution to the development of clinical practice relating to sexual health. Demonstrated advanced leadership skills and the ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team, with an emphasis on service delivery, quality care, and team cohesion. Demonstrated time management skills and the ability to prioritise and effective negotiation skills. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal, and electronic). Proven computer literacy (including eMR, CHOC, and PowerChart) and data management skills. Current NSW Drivers License.
