Essential criteria
1. Demonstrated experience as a Network Architect, preferably within a high-security or Government environment, with a strong track record of designing and implementing secure network solutions.
2. In-depth knowledge of network protocols, network security, and industry standards, with advanced skills in firewall configurations, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
3. Hands-on experience with leading networking technologies and solutions from vendors such as Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, HP, and Aruba.
4. Proficiency in Routing & Switching, Firewalls, Wireless Networking, WAN & SD-WAN, and Security Appliances, including but not limited to: Security Appliances (e.g., IPS/IDS, Aruba Clearpass, Cisco ISE, MFA) Log Management (Syslog, SIEM) Cloud Networking (Azure & AWS environments)
5. Experience conducting risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify and mitigate potential security threats. Ability to create clear, detailed network design documents, diagrams, and protocols to support architectural decisions and ensure compliance with industry standards.
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and liaise with stakeholders at all organizational levels. Proven analytical and problem-solving skills to identify, diagnose, and resolve complex network issues promptly and effectively.

1. Experience working in a Commonwealth Government context.
