THE OPPORTUNITY:
Reporting to the Service Delivery Lead, the Desktop Support Engineer is responsible for providing effective and efficient telephone and face-to-face technical support to users regarding Desktop issues. Following agreed procedures, respond to requests for assistance by providing information to enable users to resolve their problems.
This is a full-time permanent position on a 5/2 roster based at our West Perth office with ad-hoc visits to site.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Installing, configuring and maintaining PCs.
* Setting up new PCs and laptops and user accounts for staff.
* Establish and administer standard user templates for hardware and software requirements.
* Identifying and resolving staff IT issues.
* Establishing and maintaining appropriate system and security controls, security levels and systems access.
* Developing and maintaining relevant documentation and procedures.
* Providing support for systems software users.
* Liaise with service providers and progress improvement to service levels for the company (incl. use of Service Level Agreements).
* Maintain accurate log entries of faults with resolution and contact details.
* Work across the corporate support office and attend the site on a regular basis.
* Coordinate IT service requirements and recommend new initiatives.
* Available after hours and at weekends as required to help maintain uptime on infrastructure.
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and unsupervised to deliver initiatives on time.
* Prioritize and schedule problems. Escalate the problem (when required) to the Network Administrator.
ABOUT YOU:
* Strong technical knowledge with proven ability to resolve technical issues in a Microsoft environment (Windows 10 and Office 365).
* Knowledge of PC hardware.
* Understanding of infrastructure (DHCP, DNS, and Exchange) and networking (IP Addressing, routing, network topologies etc).
* Degree Qualified in Information technology
* Microsoft Certified Professional.
* Possession of a current Class C Driver’s Licence.
