As the Financial Controller you will be leading a small finance team ensuring the organisations financial information is timely, accurate and compliant with relevant accounting and taxation principles. Reporting to the Head of Corporate Services, key responsibilities will include: Lead a team of four in Finance, overseeing workflows related to accounts, payroll, and resource purchasing functions.Supervise the Organisation's accounting, expense management, and payroll systems, working in close collaboration with software developers.Oversee statutory compliance for the Organisation, including GST, BAS, PAYG, FBT, and Workers Compensation Returns.Manage the Organisation's cash flows within available facilities and offer strategic recommendations.Oversee the preparation of monthly financial accounts, ensuring balance sheet and key profit and loss accounts are reconciled for analysis and management reporting.Prepare Board reporting packs, grant funding reconciliations, acquittal submissions, and the annual budget, including periodic budget reviews as needed.Support the Head of Corporate Services in preparing annual financial accounts and managing the audit process.Provide training and guidance to staff across the Organisation on financial procedures and reporting.Work alongside the Head of Corporate Services to collaborate, design, implement, and review finance systems and procedures for continuous improvement and adoption of best practices. You will have a strong background in finance ideally possessing the following experience and qualifications:Relevant Bachelor's degree and completed CA or CPA qualification.A minimum 10 years' experience working in similar sized organisations, not-for-profit ideal but not a necessity.Experience of driving a small team.Sound knowledge of systems including ERP and payroll.
