Your role:
Working to your strengths, you will continue to create and build a compelling vision for the Power Tools portfolio. More specifically you will:
* Bring your experience, leadership and credibility to the forefront in setting and executing the national strategic buying direction for the Power Tools portfolio
* Be pushing the boundaries of excellence by further introducing, developing, and executing first-class category plans, pricing, and product assortments including the development of exclusive branded products
* Be continually enhancing the value proposition that drives excellence in service and delivers strong sales and profit results
* Be providing leadership to the stores, developing and capitalising upon retailer and supplier relationships
* Be focused on growth and sustainability of the business through competitive and profitable promotions and complaint retailing standards
Here’s what it will take:
* You are proven: You are an experienced, senior, accomplished and proven Category Manager, Product Manager or Buyer from either the Retail or Supplier side (or both)
* Category/Product experience: Power Tools, Hardware (or aligned) category/product management experience is a ‘nice to have’ however, not at all essential
* Your stakeholder and relationships management skills are ‘next level:’ You have a natural ability to influence and engage a diverse internal and external stakeholder network. You inspire with ease, and you can drive and lead change, with people and partners, always on your journey
* It’s a given you have skill sets in inventory management, negotiating, and building supplier relationships and you are always in it for a ‘win-win.’ It is, also your ‘eye for commercial ranging’ and helping your team to develop solution-based category plans that sets you apart
* You have ambition: your career is important to you, and you are recognised as a leader with a high level of capability
* You are authentic and down to earth: this oozes from your every pore
* You inspire: You have drive, determination and commitment that inspires others, and you are always ‘in it for the team’
* You take a non-hierarchical approach: you are prepared and comfortable getting your hands dirty as much as you are performing the strategic and high-level relationship management aspects of the role
