We are seeking a highly motivated and organised APS 4/5 Secretariat Officer to provide essential secretariat support within a high-profile Federal Government department. In this role, you will be responsible for managing administrative tasks and providing support to senior leaders and/or committees in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You will play a key role in ensuring effective communication and coordination across teams, contributing to the achievement of our mission to serve the Australian public.
The primary focus of the APS 4/5 Secretariat Officer is to provide high-level secretariat support by undertaking moderately complex tasks for the team/committee:
Organising meetings, preparing agendas, distributing relevant documents, booking travel, processing reimbursements, taking minutes, and drafting bulletins to ensure the advisory committee operates efficiently. Ensuring the committee's activities align with its goals and mandate, with an emphasis on culturally informed approaches to clean energy and climate change initiatives. Documenting meeting minutes, managing correspondence, and tracking action items resulting from discussions. Supporting logistical coordination for meetings, consultations, and stakeholder engagements while prioritising inclusivity and accessibility. Conducting research and preparing policy documents, briefing papers, and discussion materials for the committee. Monitoring the progress of implementing recommendations made by the advisory committee. Preparing progress reports and updates for stakeholders to maintain transparency and accountability. The APS 4/5 Secretariat Officer role is best suited to candidates who have:
Australian Citizenship is required for Federal Government. Minimum Baseline Clearance preferred. Secretariat experience or transferrable skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated high-level interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain productive working relationships. Ability to effectively liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
