Purpose of the Role:
The Laboratory Technician is responsible for conducting various laboratory tests on construction materials, ensuring they meet specified standards and contribute to the overall success and safety of the Snowy 2.0 Project.
Qualifications:
4. Associate degree or equivalent certification in Laboratory Technology, Civil Engineering or a related field.
5. Proven experience in a laboratory or construction materials testing role.
6. Familiarity with relevant laboratory equipment and testing methods.
7. Class Driver’s Licence
8. White Card
Experience:
9. Minimum 2 years’ experience in a laboratory role within the construction industry, preferably in tunnelling projects.
10. Proficiency in conducting tests on construction materials such as soil, concrete and asphalt.
11. Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols.
Required Competencies:
12. Expertise in conducting various laboratory tests on construction materials, ensuring accuracy and reliability of results.
13. Familiarity with and ability to operate laboratory testing equipment.
14. Implement quality assurance procedures to ensure the accuracy and consistency of test results.

29. Accurately record and report test results, maintaining comprehensive documentation of laboratory activities.
30. Adhere to and promote laboratory safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment.
31. Identify and address challenges related to laboratory testing, providing effective solutions.
32. Effectively communicate test results and findings to project teams, engineers and other stakeholders.
33. Collaborate with construction crews, project managers, and other laboratory technicians to ensure seamless integration of testing processes.
34. Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency in laboratory testing procedures.
