About the role ARRCS are currently sourcing a qualified and experienced Chef & Head Chef to support the planning, preparation, handling, and storage of our residents’ meals in our Alice Springs facilities, with meals including breakfast, lunch, dinner services and snack options. This position is a permanent, full-time role. x01 Chef - from $28.25 per hour Base Rate, Excluding Super and Allowances x01 Head Chef - from $37.11 per hour Base Rate, Excluding Super and Allowances This role would ideally suit a skilled chef who enjoys working in a multi-functional kitchen and likes to place a ‘personal’ touch on their meal design and preparation. To be successful in this role, we will be looking at applications who hold a minimum of a Certificate III in Commercial Cooking and completion of the Food Handlers Certificate – SITXFSA005 – Use hygienic practices for food safety. In addition, you will have prior experience ideally working within Aged Care or, cooking for large volume and for consumers who have multiple dietary needs. You will be comfortable working within an Aged Care facility and amongst the elderly. Skills and experience To be considered for this role, you must demonstrate the following: A minimum of Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or a similar discipline. Food Handlers Certificate – SITXFSA005 – Use hygienic practices for food safety Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a commercial chef environment, with preference within a Health or Aged care facility. Demonstrated prior experience in the development of menus’ and working with multiple dietary requirements. Extensive knowledge of health and safety legislation in response to food preparation, food handling and storage. Demonstrated ability in achieving personal goals and identifying areas for new training, development and requesting further training for any development in competency skill checks. Demonstrated ability to respond and adapt to competing priorities whilst working unsupervised. Demonstrated ability to empathies with Aged People, their families, and Personal Carers.
