About the Opportunity
We have an exciting new opportunity for Senior Technical Publications Authors to join our Hunter Class Frigate program (HCFP) on a permanent full-time basis. These positions can be offered in Melbourne, VIC or Adelaide, SA.
Working across all aspects of Maritime Technical Publications, you will drive innovative technical publication solutions and lead your technical writing activities in accordance with project procedures and work instructions to achieve project goals.
You will work with a team of Tech Pub Authors, Illustrators, and Multi-Media experts.
Key Responsibilities
* Produce technical publications ensuring all projects requirements, including safety and regulatory requirements are met.
* Undertake technical writing requirements, define technical writing and authoring requirements, and participate in system design and requirement reviews.
* Develop technical documentation in accordance with appropriate standards.
* Participate in validation of design, plans, and reports.
* Contribute towards continuous development activities as well as project engineering policies & strategies.
* Manage and provide guidance to peers when required.
About You
We seek candidates with:
* Diploma or formal qualification in Technical Writing or equivalent practical experience.
* Demonstrated experience in Technical Publication Writing / Authoring and/or Drafting.
* Effective communication skills at various levels of stakeholders to discuss and present business requirements.
* Proficient with using authoring software tools and MS applications.
* A background in leading teams of technical authors would be beneficial.
* Understanding of S1000D and / or experience in producing Maritime Technical Publications is highly desirable.
