Executive Director, Place Delivery | Full-time Executive Classification: Executive Level 2.2Position No: E818Directorate: Suburban Land AgencyAdvertised (Gazettal date): 01 November 2024Contact Officer: Donna Theron on ****** or (02) 6207 2*** YOUR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Executive Director, Place Delivery is a senior executive role within the Suburban Land Agency and part of the senior leadership team.Effective leadership is essential to our success as our innovative and forward-thinking leaders deliver SLA's mission to create great places where communities thrive.The position requires a person with exceptional executive management skills who will provide leadership and direction in the planning and delivery of major infrastructure projects, to ensure effective delivery of and accountability for projects within agreed scope and timeframes.The nature of this role requires maintaining collaborative partnerships across SLA, ACT Government, and industry, and has responsibility to implement policies and deliver projects that support achievement of Government's strategic priorities and SLA's financial and non-financial performance goals.The Place Delivery Group is responsible for leading an expansive development program that spans large-scale civil and infrastructure initiatives, suburban estate development, and exemplar urban regeneration and renewal.The Group is responsible for delivering the bulk of the Government's Indicative Land Release Program which outlines the Territory's intent to release land for residential, commercial, industrial, and community uses.The group operates across greenfield estates, urban estates and releases, commercial ventures, and infrastructure and civil services.The Place Delivery Group is also responsible for management of the SLA's interest in the West Belconnen 'Ginninderry' Joint Venture.The Place Delivery Group is responsible for significant multi-year projects and initiatives that cross all levels of Government.Some of the key responsibilities include: Facilitating the provision of critical Government and non-Government facilities, including educational facilities, sporting fields, community facilities, public, social and community housing, transport infrastructure, and other major trunk infrastructure.Undertaking due diligence and planning activities to inform concept and detailed design.Preparing concept and detailed designs using a people-centric approach that demonstrates sustainable, integrated developments that attract and promote thriving communities.Undertaking feasibility analysis to inform Government investment decisions on major infrastructure, civil works, estate development, commercial ventures, and built-form outcomes.Preparing masterplans and statutory planning proposals that enliven community ambitions and visions.Securing statutory approvals, including environmental, heritage, development, detailed design, and construction.Engaging with traditional owners, local and broader Canberra communities on their aspirations for future communities.Partnering with industry on complex commercial arrangements and ventures.Developing outcomes-based, complex land release structures and contractual arrangements and overseeing their administration from inception through to post-sale.Being at the forefront of sustainable design and development, through delivery of environmentally and socially sustainable land development and construction.Delivering to the Government's Indicative Land Release Program, including affordable, community, and public housing targets and delivering significant financial returns through dividends to the Territory.
