Australian Prescriber (AP) is an independent and free, evidence-based information QUM resource, bridging other independent resources and providing contextualised medicines information. Australian Prescriber supports critical reflection on decision-making, and provides an in-depth, practical and applied critique and discussion on a broad range of topics addressing the intersection of quality use of medicines, diagnostics and pathology. We are now seeking a Clinical Editor initially for a fixed term of 1 year, to join the AP Publishing team.
The role
As Clinical Editor, you will be responsible for developing and delivering Australian Prescriber content, ensuring in-house production processes and editorial skills are applied to meet the required standards and KPIs set by the Department of Health and Aged Care. This role reports to the Managing Editor AP and also works in collaboration with the AP Editorial team, the wider Publishing team, the Production team, authors, reviewers and the Editorial Advisory Committee.
The Ideal Candidate
We are seeking a candidate who has a Post Graduate Qualification in either medicine, pharmacy, pharmacology, or health sciences, and at least 2 years work experience in clinical care. Further qualifications in writing, editing or publishing will be highly regarded.
As the ideal candidate with proven professional networking skills, you would bring to the role sound knowledge of drug therapeutics, experience in medical editing and fact-checking, well-developed project management skills, high level of computer literacy and expertise in the Microsoft suite of products, experience in performing literature searches and reviewing, interpreting and distilling evidence, as well as ability to edit therapeutic text concisely and clearly to intended audiences.
