The Security Monitor (SM) is tasked with maintaining security within restricted and unclassified areas of the facility. This includes overseeing personnel movements, safeguarding sensitive information, preventing unauthorized access, and ensuring compliance with security protocols and emergency procedures.
Essential Responsibilities:
Knowledge and Communication :
1. Maintain understanding of project CONOPs and facility regulations.
2. Clearly communicate security processes to site and uncleared personnel.
Control and Security :
3. Control access of uncleared personnel to prevent unauthorized access to sensitive areas or materials.
4. Prevent removal or theft of facility items.
Communication :
5. Monitor and effectively use handheld radio systems for communication.
Prohibited Items :
6. Ensure uncleared personnel do not bring unauthorized electronic equipment or other prohibited items onto the facility.
Emergency Procedures :
7. Educate and enforce relevant evacuation, lockdown, and security procedures during emergencies.
8. Maintain control of uncleared personnel in emergency situations.
Incident Reporting :
9. Accurately document security incidents, infractions, and self-reports.
Physical Demands :
10. Perform duties in various weather conditions and environments, involving physical activities such as standing, sitting, walking, and climbing stairs.
Additional Support :
11. Provide support in custodial, food services, or trades as directed by security management.
Health and Safety :
12. Promote and maintain health and safety practices in the workplace.
Flexibility :
13. Undertake other reasonable duties as required.
Qualifications:
14. Minimum Essential :
Completion of Year 12.Ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle.1 year of work experience.Ability to work independently and within a team.Strong adherence to safety procedures.Excellent communication skills.
15. Desirable :
Previous security experience.Experience with handheld radio communications.Additional licenses such as Working at Heights or Elevated Work Platform.
