Our facilities include chapels in Berri, Renmark, and Waikerie, allowing us to serve families across the Riverland region.About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Mortuary Technician to join our team. This role is based primarily in Berri, South Australia and requires travel between our Berri, Renmark, and Waikerie locations.The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for the mortuary area and performing all body preparation work to a high standard. In addition, you will support the team by working as a Funeral Director’s Assistant, assisting with funeral services and other operational tasks as required.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct all aspects of mortuary care and preparation in accordance with professional and ethical standards.Ensure the mortuary area is maintained to the highest standard of cleanliness and compliance.Assist in the preparation and delivery of funeral services.Operate hearses and other fleet vehicles.Perform general cleaning and maintenance of facilities and vehicles.Transfer deceased individuals into our care.Set up equipment for funeral services, including at cemeteries.About YouPrior experience as a Mortuary Technician.Strong attention to detail and a commitment to professional and ethical standards.Ability to work autonomously while also supporting a dynamic team.Comfortable working in a physically and emotionally demanding environment.A compassionate, respectful, and professional approach to working with families.A current Australian driver’s licence is required.Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects.Basic computer skills.Able to obtain a satisfactory National Police Check and Working with Vulnerable Persons Clearance.Prepared to receive vocationally relevant vaccinations.Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.Why Join Us?Be part of a respected, family-owned funeral home with a strong reputation for excellence.Work in a supportive team environment where your role makes a meaningful impact.Opportunities for professional growth and development within the funeral industry.Based in the beautiful Riverland region for an excellent work-life balance.RemunerationWe offer competitive, over-award rates. After-hours work is paid at penalty rates, and there is a daily standby allowance for on-call work.
