Project Overview: Pluto Train 2 is the expansion of a second LNG train at the existing Pluto LNG onshore facility near Karratha in Western Australia run by Woodside Energy. Woodside Energy is Australia's leading natural gas producer, and Bechtel is excited to be working with this key customer to help meet the increasing global demand for LNG as a transitional energy source. Job Summary: As Field Expeditor, you can be located at the project jobsite, or telework from home and the tasks involved in the formation, administration and expediting of purchase orders. Communicates with suppliers and personnel within Bechtel to establish clear definition of requirements, and to assure performance to purchase order terms and conditions. Prepares bidder pre-qualification, bidder lists, bid solicitation, bid analysis, makes commitments and administers purchase orders. Performs expediting activities to ensure the timely delivery of materials and equipment to meet project needs. This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined bvy the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership. Major Responsibilities: Performs tasks involved in the formation, administration and expediting of purchase orders. Communicates with suppliers and personnel within Bechtel to establish clear definition of requirements, and to assure performance to purchase order terms and conditions. Understands and executes work in accordance with the project sourcing strategy, compliance to the Project's Approved Manufacturers List, project financing considerations, and respective tariff and quota risk. Responsible for assigned orders from development through closure, to include engagement with Engineering on purchase requisition development, the acquisition and delivery of purchases, and order closeout. Contacts suppliers to obtain timely submission of engineering data and to follow-up on material acquisition, production progress and shipment. Evaluates production schedules and progress reports from suppliers to determine if their programs and work progress meet jobsite requirements. Other responsibilities as designated. Education and Experience Requirements: 3 years in purchasing and/or expediting functions preferred. Ability to source and expedite items of moderate complexity. Broad knowledge and related sourcing experience and may participate in negotiations under direction of others. Required Knowledge and Skills: Proficiency and experience in the administration and expediting of purchase orders. Ability to maintain supplier relationships with supplier’s project personnel executing orders to ensure performance of the work. Skilled in working with, and communicating effectively both orally and in writing with other project functional groups. Capable of providing early warning of supplier deficiencies or schedule slippage. Capable of interpreting schedules to ensure they are realistic, that required activities occur on time, and that interface between activities is maintained. This role could be FIFO on a 3/1 roster or WFH in Perth. Working Rights in Australia without employer sponsorship are required. Additional Information: This position has responsibilities that include exposure to changing environmental, construction, and operational conditions, which may include: extensive walking in and around an active construction and/or operations site, climbing ladders, working at heights from work platforms including scaffolding, and mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs), use of personal fall arrest equipment, walking and working on uneven surfaces, working in constricted and/or confined spaces, variable work shifts (e.g., day, night, weekends, 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift, etc.), and work in inclement weather. Some lifting may be required. Candidate must be able to use standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. respirator, harness, life vest, hearing protection, etc.). The Pluto Train 2 Project is a Major Hazard Facility meaning this is a non-smoking site and no tobacco products – i.e. cigarettes, vapes, lighters, tobacco - are permitted to be brought to the site. This position is available to both local and non-local personnel. For non-locals (FIFO/DIDO), the working roster is 3/1.
