Annandale Christian College (ACC) is seeking a highly capable and experienced Risk & Compliance Manager to oversee and manage key business activities, including risk management, internal auditing, and workplace health and safety. This pivotal role provides strategic advice to ensure ACC meets its legislative and regulatory requirements; and plays a foundational role in integrating the principles of good governance into the daily operational practices of the College, supporting the ongoing wellbeing of the College community.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development and implementation of ACC's strategic risk management framework, including policies, procedures, and compliance measures. Identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks, provide strategic guidance to College leadership on ethical operations, and collaborate across departments to enhance risk management capabilities. Implement and maintain the College's Enterprise Risk Management and Compliance (ERM) Software – Complispace. Develop, implement, and monitor WH&S policies to ensure compliance with legislation, conduct safety audits, and coordinate safety drills and incident investigations. Prepare reports and presentations, provide direction to relevant committees. Oversee internal audits and continuous improvement programs, working with stakeholders to ensure audit findings are implemented. Maintain knowledge of and monitor adherence to relevant legislation, regulatory frameworks, procedures and policies relevant to education. Collaborate and maintain effective relationships with both internal staff and external stakeholders. Handle complex information and projects and work with external stakeholders to deliver clear, accurate, and fit-for-purpose work. Provide guidance and training to staff on risk, compliance WH&S matters. About You:
The successful candidate will have a passion for maintaining a safe and compliant educational environment with a good understanding of risk and compliance principles, workplace health and safety legislation, and risk management frameworks. They will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of offering expert guidance to staff.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
Demonstrated skills and experience in a relevant discipline or combination thereof (risk management, internal audit, compliance, workplace health & safety) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Proven experience in internal audit functions Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Ability to manage complex processes and programs Current First Aid and CPR certification or ability to obtain Current valid working with children blue card (paid) or ability to obtain Tertiary qualifications in business, governance, administration, or related field (desirable) Knowledge of legislation and regulations relevant to Education (desirable) Additional Requirements:
The successful candidate must be a committed Christian, with a lifestyle consistent with biblical principles and who aligns with ACC's Statement of Christian Beliefs. A pastoral reference must be provided as part of the application process.
