The opportunity
The position contributes to the achievements of the Procurement and Contracts unit by participating in commercial matters relating to Strategic sourcing, expenditure analysis, contracts management and procurement functions.
Role requirements
1. Whilst not mandatory, it is highly desirable that the Contracts and Procurement officer will have achieved or be willing to achieve a minimum of a QLD PCP level 2: Intermediate Procurement certification.
The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:
2. Demonstrated experience in conducting both low value and significant procurement activities specifically:
3. development of procurement, probity and tender evaluation plans
4. development of tender specifications
5. facilitation of tender evaluation meetings and preparation of tender evaluation reports
6. facilitation of post offer negotiations and contract award
7. Demonstrated experience and/or understanding of core strategic objectives in procuring for the Queensland government.
8. Demonstrated understanding of probity and integrity requirements in government procurement.
9. Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement with the aim to ensure project success.
10. Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in contract management and it concepts including planning and supplier performance management.
11. Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with modern business systems i.e. Microsoft Office suite and procurement specific systems such as tender systems, contract management systems and ERP systems such as SAP.

12. Wage rate ranges between $3928.50 to $4274.40 p.f. (AO5)
13. Annual leave with a 17.5% loading.
14. 12.75% employer superannuation contribution.
