An exciting opportunity has become available for a talented Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) to join the team at the North West Regional Hospital in a brand new Permanent Full-Time position.
This is a new role responsible for the management of a 15 bedded medical unit caring for a variety of different patient groups.
The incumbent will work closely with the NUM of the general medical ward and the Nursing Director to recruit and establish a collaborative team providing care to the population of the NW Coast of Tasmania.
Multidisciplinary teams and leadership has been a prominent feature of the public health system for a number of years.

be responsible for the wards performance and activity levels and managing staff performance and development in conjunction with the Clinical Nurse Educator.

Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with post-graduate qualifications in leadership/management Demonstrated advanced knowledge and skills in medical ward nursing and have comprehensive knowledge in contemporary nursing management practice.
Motivational, leadership, interpersonal and high level communication skills, with highly developed coaching, negotiation and conflict resolution skills Demonstrated ability to be innovative, creative and self-directed in relation to clinical practice Ability to set priorities, and achieve agreed objectives Commitment to continuous quality improvement and the ability to initiate and manage change The hospital: The North West Regional Hospital, Burnie is a 160 bed facility and is the principal referral centre for the North West Tasmanian community and provides general medicine, surgical (including orthopaedic), intensive care, cancer services, paediatric services, outpatient clinics and specialist services.
The hospital has close ties with the University of Tasmania through the Rural Clinical School and with TAFE Tasmania thus providing opportunities for comprehensive clinical training programs.
Details of Appointment Permanent full time, day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing immediately.

Salary: $119,136 - 124,850 per annum + 11% superannuation Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2019 You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
